Answering your questions!

Q: Do we have to form our own teams?

A: Yes and No. I'd suggest you work on making your own team. If there are players that just want to participate in events and not commit to the practices they can pay the per person fee and for a jersey. They would just register for the event once that registration is up.

Our events will be coed Quads male to female ratio has to be 2:2 with no more boys than girls. Divisions will be U12/U13, U14/U16, U17/U18/Adults.

Q: What if I can't commit to everything?

A: This is designed to be cost effective and accommodate as many busy summers as possible. The fees are meant to cover uniform and entry fees for hosted events. The two practice options are to accommodate different schedules with the hopes that one works best. You will want to make sure most of your team can make it.

Q: What is the Cantine?

A: Just trying to make it easy on parents. The Sand Bar will be open if players need gatorade or water. Instead of sending money they essentially would have a tab. Any unused cantine will be returned at the end of the season. The cantine can't be used at Sugar Jets. The Sugar Jets food trailer will be on site both practice days from 11-1PM and you are welcome to have lunch with us!

Q: How will we communicate things?

A: Everyone that registers will be added to a sportsengine group. It is an app you will need to download and login with the same email address that you used to register. Events will be posted into the app where you can rsvp so we know numbers.

Q: What is the event cancellation Policy?

A: We will only cancel events for lightning and severe wind. colder temp or light rain we will not cancel for. For tournaments we will try to delay start or move to Sunday and start at 12PM.

Q: Are we expected to volunteer?

A: Not at all. You are welcome to be involved but are not required to be.

Q: Who offiiciates? Are their ref requirements?

A: Beach volleyball is officiated by the participants and has no official. It is a "Self call" Sport. For U12-U13 we will be working on having older players help monitor the courts to help with rules and regulation.

Q: What are the different rules from indoor volleyball?

A: Please see the "What's Different" Tab for details on rule differences.

Q: Can we have coed teams? All boys teams?

A: Absolutely! For ages U12-U13 there can be all boys teams. For ages U14-U18 there can only be 2 girls-2boys or 1 boy and 3 girls for quad combos at our hosted events. Other tournaments have different rules. Make sure to read up on the team make up prior to registering!

Q: What are sand socks and why do we need them?

A: Sand Socks are meant to protect your feet. In the mornings the sand is cold and mid day can be blistering hot. You don't have to wear them, we just wanted the option to be there.

Q: What amenities are at the Sand Lot?

A: Please see the Sand Lot Tab for all amentities and information.

Q: Can parents stay and watch at events/practices?

A: Absolutely! Stay and watch! There are plenty of covered seating areas and lawn chairs you can even catch a tan!

Q: Can you just play in the tournaments?

A: Yes, if you can't commit to regular practices and still want to be on a team and participate. You can simply register for the tournament and pay for a jersey and you are good to go! Same goes for the AVP Pro Camp.
